Hundreds of people gathered at Carl Zehr square in Kitchener on Saturday January 20th. I was honored to get to speak about being a women in business and about all the potential women have. I spoke about how no matter what ideas you may have, they are amazing, you need to at least attempt to peruse them because other people will believe in your vision and amazing things can happen.
It touched my heart when a woman came up to me and said that what I spoke about resonated with her. Seriously, whatever your heart loves, go after it and people will buy into your passion. I’ve been getting to do what I do for almost 6 years because of people who believed my vision.
Personally, I know how I have minimized my own successes and triumphs yet when someone reflected back my accomplishments, it was astonishing. Sometimes, each milestone seems small since you've been on the ground floor trying to make it happen. But you need to know every inch matters. I always love the quote, "If your dreams don't scare you, they aren't big enough." It's so true!
Were you out of the loop for the Women's March? Well it's going to be every year, and I am excited to grow my squad who joins me for the march.
Here's a short breakdown of what the Women's March is all about:
Inspiring, uniting and leading the charge for the advancement of women across Canada.
Making the equality of women in Canada the new norm.
The vision and values can be explained in a unifying framework called H.E.R.S., which spells out the women’s rights priorities of: Health, Economic Security, Representation, and Safety. Pretty great right? Read more here if you're interested.
