Mexico Style Lookbook

Since my most recent trip to Playa dell Carmen, Mexico, I realized a couple things: 1) Awesome followers were asking to see more of my outfits, and 2) packing lists for traveling can be hard for some people envision what outfits will look like.
So I decided to snap a few photos of my outfits to give you some fashion inspiration for your next trip. If you're not feeling anything in your closet, feel free to shop Le Prix's vacation collection for Instagram-worthy looks.

I want to keep my skin healthy and I also burn easily so I swear by a relaxed silk button up to throw over my bikini at the beach. It dries easily and is really lightweight. Not to mention I love the high-neck trend for swimwear, which again keeps my skin protected to I can play all day at the beach.

This was one of my favorite spots at a restaurant called Oriole and I loved sitting at the beach with the balmy breeze on my face. My skin was so dewy and hydrated thanks to the humidity and all the fresh liquids I consumed all week.

We went out for an Italian dinner one night, and my mom and I love dressing up. This white lace dress was actually my reception dress for my wedding, but of course I am going to find more reasons to wear it! I love the back and the slits up the legs.

I started getting creative with ways to braid my hair or tie it up to keep it from sticking to me and getting frizzy. Plus it helps show off the details of your clothes.

If you're not skilled in the make up department, go with lipstick. It's easy to follow your lip line and can make such a statement!

I got creative with my bikini top and wore it as a crop top with a flowy skirt on my way to the beach and out for lunch. I love having fabric that move with the breeeze, it's always so romantic and feminine.

The beach life is my favourite. As I am sure you can tell with my pale skin, I am not much of a tanner. I get too hot sitting on the chairs, so I love playing beach volleyball, snorkeling, and swimming. I rock a solid SPF 60 while I am down south and other than one game of volleyball going on too long without re-applying, I didn't burn. But I always make sure to find shade if my body needs it too.

Packing for a trip is all about making a capsule wardrobe for yourself. This striped silk top went perfectly with so many pieces, but I decided to wear it with a simple gold branch necklace and the same flowy maxi skirt from earlier that day.

This was such a lucky surprise when we got to Mexico. Our room was a swim up hotel room and we loved enjoying taking a dip in the pool after the beach, but before getting ready for dinner.

I brought a dress for every night, and I love the floral detail in the white and red dress on me, and it has a fun back cutout with buttons. Again, a bold lip helps pull it together, and some pretty gold earrings.

I loved using this linen and leather criss-cross bag as my beach bag. This photo was shot in the Plaza where all the night events usually happen, and beside the spa I used most days for hydrotherapy.

Another great spot for lunch on a patio by the beach pool and the perfect breeze. I brought two pairs of sunglasses, to mix and match with my looks, and tons of earrings. These sunnies are tortoiseshell, and the earrings are wood.

This red silk wrap dress doubled as a night-out dress and perfectly as a beach cover-up. Get creative with your pieces! I loved pairing it with my bronze sandals for a laid-back effortless vibe. I mean... I'm on vacation after-all.

What takes up a lot of room in your bag are shoes because they don't fold neatly like the rest of your clothes. So I try to bring one pair of flats, one pair of sneakers, and one pair of heels. I love these heels because they have a stacked heel for comfort and are versatile with the multiple neutral shades in them.

I love this dress. I always feel so sassy in it because one side is so long, and the other shows so much leg.  Not to mention the small lines of cutouts. A black dress can be paired really well with metallic pieces.

This look is was one of my day trip outfits. I braided my hair to keep it from getting too messy from hiking, snorkeling, and swimming. My top was from Le Prix, and once I was packing for this trip, I had to make it mine. It says 'La Mer', how perfect? These high-waist shorts are actually an active quick-dry fabric with pockets, perfect for Mexican humidity. I slid on my bronze leather sandals for comfort and utility.

To combat the heat and humidity, I will always recommend breathable fabrics and especially dresses. Think silk, linen, or cotton. The above purple graphic dress is all silk and feels like a dream on my skin.

At most resorts and especially the Azul Fives Hotel, Gourmet All Inclusive, you still need to dress well when you go out for a meal. This easy ruffle cotton top and shorts go well with a pair of stacked heels. Fun sunglasses - a must!

I wanted to save my best and most favourite Valentino silk resort collection dress for my last night.
Le Prix Mexico Style
This pretty silk dress features a playful rope nautical print, red piping, and a full skirt meant for twirling. I accessorized it with some gold earrings, lemonade and churros.

I started sporting a simple t-shirt and cotton jogger pants with some metallic accessories for our flight home. The plane is always a touch cold and we were headed back to Canada in February. Can't forget my Mojito accessory, although they are just as good when you have them virgin and it helps keep you super hydrated.
I hope my travel style helps you! Let me know if you have any questions, or if you want some pretty outfits for traveling, shop the Le Prix Travel Collection now.
